Anja Kroencke, the artist and creator of "Ofunusualkind" was born in Vienna, Austria. She was the eldest of six children and was raised in a cross-cultural family. As a child she spent many hours drawing, and her mother taught her to knit and sew and appreciate well-made things. Anja moved to New York City at the age of 25 where her career began.
